Club-issued singlets
Jr Wildcats singlets are club equipment assigned to wrestlers for use during the season. Proper care helps keep them clean, looking good, fitting correctly and available for future wrestlers.
Do not permanently alter, label, cut, repair or otherwise modify a club-issued singlet without approval from the club.
After wearing the singlet
Wash the singlet as soon as practical after a tournament or event. Do not leave a damp or sweaty singlet sitting in a wrestling bag for an extended period.
Washing
- Turn the singlet inside out before washing.
- Machine wash in cold water on a gentle or normal cycle.
- Wash with similar athletic clothing when possible.
- Use a normal amount of mild laundry detergent.
- Do not use bleach.
- Do not use fabric softener. It can leave residue on performance fabrics and affect moisture-wicking properties.
- Avoid washing the singlet with items that have exposed Velcro, zippers, hooks or other materials that could snag the fabric.
Drying
The safest approach is to hang dry or lay flat to dry.
Avoid high heat and do not iron the singlet. Excessive heat can damage stretch fabric, printed graphics, lettering and elastic.
Before returning a club singlet
Please return the singlet:
- freshly washed;
- completely dry;
- free of strong odors;
- free of food, mud or other avoidable stains; and
- in the same condition you would want the next wrestler to receive it.
If you notice a tear, damaged seam, peeling graphic, unusual stain or other damage, tell the Singlet Manager rather than attempting a repair yourself.
