The governing-body standard is the floor
The club's long-used coach conduct form is based on the Missouri USA Wrestling Code of Conduct. That document requires sportsmanlike behavior, compliance with rules and laws, respect for people and property, and prohibits harassment, abuse and other inappropriate behavior. Jr Wildcats expectations
- Treat athletes, parents, coaches, officials, opponents and spectators with respect.
- Do not use abusive, demeaning or profane language around youth athletes or while acting as a club representative.
- Do not consume alcohol or be under the influence while responsible for athletes, during club/team functions, or while acting as an official Jr Wildcats representative.
- Do not use tobacco or prohibited substances around athletes or during team functions.
- Follow SafeSport, athlete-protection, event and governing-body requirements.
- Do not use a coaching position to intimidate, harass, gain unfair advantage or place personal interests ahead of athlete welfare.
- When wearing official team apparel in a context where you are visibly representing the club, conduct yourself accordingly.
Consequences
Coaching is a privilege. Conduct violations may be reviewed by club leadership and can result in restriction, suspension or loss of Jr Wildcats coaching privileges in addition to any action taken by a governing body or event organizer.
