Start with the club process
Becoming a Jr Wildcats coach is more than purchasing a coaching card. The club first evaluates whether an applicant is a good fit to work with our athletes and represent the organization.
- Read the coaching expectations and code-of-conduct guidance in this Knowledge Center.
- Complete the current Jr Wildcats Coaching Application. The legacy application is available at /docs/2020_Jr_Wildcats_Coaches_App.pdf until the form is formally updated.
- Participate in the club's interview/selection process. The normal interview group includes the Head Coach, Coaches Director and another Board representative.
- Wait for the club's selection decision. Submitting an application does not create a coaching position.
- If selected, complete the required USA Wrestling, background-screening, SafeSport and AAU credentialing steps described in the credentialing articles.
- Complete Bronze certification if you plan to coach mat-side in the Missouri USA Wrestling State Series or another event that requires it.
- Confirm final readiness with club coaching leadership before representing the Jr Wildcats as a coach.
No premature coach-roster record is required
You do not need to be added to the authoritative Jr Wildcats coach roster simply to read these instructions or begin the application/credentialing process. This protects the accuracy of the roster when an applicant withdraws, does not complete the process, or does not pass required screening.
