USA Wrestling Waiver Acknowledgement: Required Before Practice

What families, coaches and club administrators need to know about USA Wrestling's required waiver acknowledgement before practice and the limits of Jr Wildcats' current verification capability.

About 4 minute read

USA Wrestling requires this acknowledgement

USA Wrestling requires athletes and other applicable participants to complete the required waiver acknowledgement through their USA Wrestling account.

Individuals who have not completed the required acknowledgement are not permitted to participate in practice.

This is a USA Wrestling participation requirement, not an optional Wright City Jr Wildcats policy.

What families need to know

Completion of the required USA Wrestling waiver acknowledgement is the responsibility of the individual member or, when applicable, the member's parent or legal guardian.

If you or your athlete has not completed the required acknowledgement, it must be completed before participating in practice. Sign in to your USA Wrestling membership account and complete any required waiver or acknowledgement presented by USA Wrestling.

Can Jr Wildcats verify my waiver status?

USA Wrestling has instructed clubs that the required acknowledgement must be completed before an individual can participate in practice.

At this time, Wright City Jr Wildcats has not identified a reliable club-administration view within the USA Wrestling system that allows our administrators to independently verify the current acknowledgement status of every individual. We have asked USA Wrestling for clarification regarding the administrative tools available to clubs for verifying this requirement.

Because USA Wrestling maintains the official waiver and membership records, USA Wrestling's records and instructions are authoritative.

What should I do if I am told my waiver is incomplete?

If USA Wrestling or Wright City Jr Wildcats informs you that your required acknowledgement has not been completed, you must resolve the requirement before participating in practice.

  1. Sign in to your USA Wrestling membership account.
  2. Review any outstanding waiver, acknowledgement or membership requirements.
  3. Complete the required acknowledgement.
  4. If you believe you already completed it, verify the status through USA Wrestling before returning to practice.

The club cannot override an outstanding USA Wrestling requirement.

Why doesn't Jr Wildcats mark the waiver complete?

The waiver acknowledgement is a USA Wrestling requirement maintained within USA Wrestling's systems.

Wright City Jr Wildcats will not create a separate local record representing a USA Wrestling waiver as complete unless we have a reliable method of verifying that status with USA Wrestling. Doing otherwise could create a situation in which the Jr Wildcats system indicates that an athlete is cleared while USA Wrestling's records indicate that the required acknowledgement has not been completed.

For coaches and club administrators

An individual identified as not having completed the required USA Wrestling acknowledgement must not participate in practice until the requirement has been resolved.

If USA Wrestling identifies an individual as having an outstanding acknowledgement, treat that information as authoritative. Do not assume that an individual is cleared simply because the Jr Wildcats website does not display an outstanding waiver requirement.

Until USA Wrestling provides a reliable club-level verification method, questions about completion should be referred to the participant's USA Wrestling account or to USA Wrestling.

Current club verification status

Wright City Jr Wildcats has asked USA Wrestling to clarify how club administrators can directly view and verify current waiver acknowledgement status.

Until that clarification is received, the Jr Wildcats website will not attempt to independently calculate, infer or represent USA Wrestling waiver completion status.

We will update this guidance when USA Wrestling provides additional information or an appropriate club-level verification mechanism.
