Tournament Signup: A Family Overview

Understand how event-specific tournament signup differs from season registration and why deadlines and statuses matter.

About 6 minute read

Tournament signup is separate from season registration

Registering a wrestler for the Jr Wildcats season does not automatically mean that wrestler is entered in every tournament. Tournament participation is an event-specific decision and may have its own signup deadline, eligibility information, fee, and club workflow.

Start with the correct wrestler and event

Families with multiple wrestlers should confirm which wrestler they are signing up and which tournament they selected. Review the event date, location, divisions, and any family-facing instructions before submitting a signup.

Signup is a request in an event workflow

The status shown by the Family Portal should be read according to its label. A family selection, submitted signup, payment record, club review, and final tournament entry are related steps but should not be assumed to mean the same thing.

Watch the deadline

Tournaments often operate on deadlines outside the club's control. Submit family decisions by the Jr Wildcats deadline shown for the event rather than assuming the tournament's external deadline is also the family's deadline.

If something looks wrong

Do not create a duplicate wrestler, adult, relationship, or season registration to make a tournament option appear. Contact Jr Wildcats so the existing family access or event record can be reviewed.
