Coach Application & Interview Process

How the Jr Wildcats coaching application, interview and selection process works.

About 4 minute read

Complete the application

The coaching application asks about contact information, wrestling/coaching experience, youth-program experience and prior coaching certification. It also requires the applicant to acknowledge the governing-body and Jr Wildcats conduct expectations.

The current legacy form is available at /docs/2020_Jr_Wildcats_Coaches_App.pdf.

Interview and selection

Applicants should expect an interview or selection discussion with coaching/club leadership, normally involving the Head Coach, Coaches Director and another Board representative. The purpose is to determine fit, expectations, availability, experience, athlete-first mindset and ability to work within the club's coaching structure.

Application does not equal appointment

Completing the form or beginning credentialing does not guarantee a coaching position. The club may decline an application or delay appointment based on fit, staffing needs, screening results, conduct concerns or other legitimate club considerations.

After selection

An accepted applicant must still complete all required eligibility and credentialing steps before being considered fully ready to coach.
