Before or early in the season
- Confirm whether your Jr Wildcats role requires the USA Wrestling Volunteer pathway or whether you already satisfy the requirement through a current Wrestling Leader/coach pathway.
- Sign in to your USA Wrestling account and verify your personal profile.
- Confirm the appropriate Volunteer membership/status for the current membership year.
- Complete or renew the required background screening.
- Complete the SafeSport Core/refresher course assigned for your current training cycle.
- Confirm required items appear correctly in your USA Wrestling profile.
- Provide readiness confirmation to Jr Wildcats leadership when requested.
Do not wait until a problem occurs
Background screening and training should be handled before an adult begins or continues regular youth-facing service that requires those protections. A submitted background check is not the same thing as a completed/cleared result.
Roles can change
If you later become a Jr Wildcats coach, follow the Wrestling Leader/coach credentialing guidance. If you stop serving as a Board member or regular volunteer, notify club leadership so seasonal records and expectations remain accurate.
